There is some background on the writing of these books: Tolkien and
Lewis wanted to write s.f., Tolkien was set to write on Time-Travel
and Lewis on Space-Travel. These are Lewis's books. Tolkien stories
were never set in a final form [their preliminary versions are collected
under volume IX of the "History of Middle-earth" series, "Sauron
Defeated"], but eventually they were recycled to become the Second Age.
