Has anyone seen M. Night Shyamalan's "The Village"? We watched it last night and I was pleasantly surprised.
It doesn't have the terror / horror impact that his other movies had, but there are several plot twists that I didn't see coming. In retrospect, he gave plenty of clues throughout the movie. This is one that you need to watch on the big screen to catch all of the subtle clues and symbolism, and then again on DVD to see the clues that you missed the first time around. Ron Howard's daughter, Bryce Dallas Howard, played the female lead, and she did a phenomenal job in the movie. Out of all of the people that I have spoken to that watched the movie, consistently, the 20 something and below crowd were bored and didn't grasp the symbolism. And consistently the 30 something's and above seemed to like the movie and understood what was going on. So my recommendation is to watch it. It is certainly not his best movie, but it isn't bad either and is worth watching none the less. By the way, this makes a GREAT date movie. :-) _________________________________________________ "When a defining moment comes along, you can do one of two things.
