I saw it with my wife and we both enjoyed it.  (Though I would rate it
somewhat below Sixth Sense and Unbreakable, both of which I especially
liked).

Unlike those two movies, the main twist of The Village occurred to me
as a possibility quite early, and I was pretty certain of it a fair
bit before it was revealed.  (That didn't diminish my enjoyment of it,
though.)  It did come as a surprise to my wife, though.

I agree about Bryce Dallas Howard - she did a great job.

Overall, I'd recommend it as well.
