I have. I particularly remember the $15,000 diamond
ring right in the front of the store. You don't see
too many of those at WalMart. Do a little bit of
research, Bob. _CostCo_ trumpets the demographics of
the people who come there on a regular basis. What do
you think their relatively high membership fee is all
about?

The market would not seem to agree with you on this
one. Once again, you're putting your values (those of
a rich doctor) and saying they're the only acceptable
ones. They aren't, though, and why you might shop at
a place and other people do might, you know, be
different. As a graduate student on an $18,000
stipend, I find that the relative attractiveness of
WalMart's discounting has gone up a little bit.

As for my proof - go read anything by any major
WalMart critic. All the horror of the $39 DVD players
(something that's been expressed on this list) and so
on. As if people who can't afford $2000 sound systems
should just do without. Or our own dear Doctor's
stuff about NASCAR. I note that (unsurprisingly) the
only person on the list who raised an objection to
that was...wait for it...me. What a shock. No
enemies to your left, right Bob?
