I have no idea how true this all is, but if it is its rather ironic,
Sending the troops off to champion democracy in Iraq whilst
doing their best to deny it at home.
 
What do people think about compulsory voting?
We have to vote here, or we get fined (sometimes)
One can of course scribble obscenities on the ballot
paper if one wishes but you have to turn up and give
it a shot. And they go out of their way to make sure 
everyone is on the electoral roll.
 
How big a part of American Democracy is the right
to totally ignore the whole process?
