I don't think that this an accurate representation of the peace movement
during this time period.   The policies associated with the peace movement
of that time period were:
 -US acquiescence in Soviet acquisition of additional client-States
 -a nuclear freeze/unilateral disarmament 
 -opposition to even the first Gulf War
