Once-and-future brineller Stefan Jones has forwarded the following about dirty tricks and urges everyone to keep their eyes open.

Stefan also says: "I hope the folks who think Bush was appointed by God don't take a Kerry win too hard. They could make the militia movement look harmless, especially if some opportunistic creep like Rove cultivates their resentment."
I don't see how we can avoid the scenario Stefan describes. The hatred is too strong, coloring one side's apocalyptic perceptions. (As shown by the fact that 75% of W supporters believe WMD were found.)
If you count JUST the legal proceedings that are now in the pipeline at the FBI... swimming upstream against fierce Administration obstruction... then there will be indictments next year that number, literally, an infinite times more than the number of ex Clinton era officials indicted for malfeasance in office.
Infinite because - despite Ashcroft's relentless efforts - there have been NO indictments of the so-called "corrupt" Clinton Administration.
What concerns me is that next year, the contrast of W's associates entering courtrooms in leg shackles will NOT look to many like the natural course of law. (It will be.) Rather, it will look like a vindictive witch hunt.
Subjective reality is amazing. Ponder these three pure facts:
* ALL of the open and honorable defections from one candidate to the other have been by respected American conservatives (and 50+ conservative newspapers) transferring support (some of them reluctantly) to Kerry.
* ALL of the dirty tricks and cheating that you see going on are being perpetrated by elements associated with the GOP. Including blatant political control over the secretly programmed voting machines. I've seen no news items to the contrary even in the far-right San Diego Union.
* Again, ZERO indictments of former Clintonites for malfeasance. Many inevitable indictments of this administration being processed even NOW under a biased Justice Department.
The purity of these three patterns is so perfectly illustrative of the "culture war", which is entirely one-sided. Under Kerry the olive branches will be real, the judge nominees neutral, the indictments solely filed on merits. Professional military officers again elevated to authority over their troops. And readiness restored.
But the culture warriors will not see it that way.
They will see it as another deliberate humiliation. They will swear revenge. Personally, I would not be president during the coming 4 years of cleanup if you paid me with a thousand Saudi oil wells.
