Yes, and I am guilty of a technical polemical sophistry, I openly admit. I spoke only of indictments filed for malfeasance AFTER the Clinton Era ended. This technical qualifier let's me wave my arms and use words like ZERON! NONE! INFINITY-TIMES! ;-) And yet, note the irony. Cisneros was caught and brought to the bar UNDER Clinton's Justice Dept. The exception seems to prove the rule. The Republic was run by grownups, instead of playground bullies. Did any of you see FRONTLINE last week? I fumed that they leaned far too far backward to be fair! They utterly glossed over the decision to leave Saddam in power in 91. They never even mentioned it! And yet, the utter and savage reaming of the US professional officer corps comes through. Want another irony? Rumsfeld was the Defense Secy that oversaw our humiliating exit from Vietnam! 30 years later, he is the one who supervised another Toknin Gulf hoax, another plunge into land war in Asia, another betrayal of the Powell doctrine of overwhelming victory, another quagmire fighting a slippery insurgency with conventional troops, and the steepest decline in our military's readiness for fresh emergencies. And a backdoor draft, hauling husbands and fathers away from their families and jobs for a year+ - turning our reserves into a shambles. _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
