The point that was made was not, since children are not allowed to
participate in prostitution, there is something wrong with it. The point
is that it isn't just one more job. Being a soldier isn't just one more
job; the job entails having people try to kill you. It's considered too
risky for children to make a rational choice as to whether they want to
risk their lives to serve their country. Coal mining is not as dangerous
and so 16 year olds can work in coal mines.

The real point is that sex is an activity that is not just one more
activity, like playing tennis, or flipping burgers. Casual sex, group sex,
are all considered obviously without repercussions, because sex isn't that
big a deal. Other views are called simple cultural bias. I'd be curious
to see a discussion of a major culture that did not have pair bonding as
the predominant pattern of parenting. I'll be happy to agree that extended
families were often involved...but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm
not talking about well-to-do men having multiple wives; I'm talking about
wanting to see examples of, say, Ming Dynasty Chinese practicing group sex
among villagers.

That's not all on you Rich, but it seems to be a reasonable request.
