Perhaps it depends on how much money you make or expect to make? I am simply working under the assumption that the GOP hated Social Security when it came in under the New Deal. A faction in the party has NEVER come to terms with Social Security. That faction is now in power in both houses and the White House. It is simply time to gut social security. Of course, you can't say FDR was a tender-hearted nincompoop, so we are going to rip the guts out of social security and tear-up the critical social contract that Social Security both is and represents. No, even the most incompetent marketeer or politician knows that you don't say "gutting social security", you say "Social Security Reform". I expect to say bye-bye to meaningful Social Security (for better or worse) if the GOP wins in 2008. HELLO ownership society.
