Well, there _was_ a good turnout for the Iraqi elections, even by the most conservative estimate I've heard. But perhaps there is some Arabic equivalent of The Onion?
I read somewhere (maybe on this list) recently that satire is [reportedly] specifically forbidden by the Koran . . .
