Certainly... not to mention the irony of the fact that her medical bills were 
being paid by Medicaid -- targeted by the administration -- and a large 
personal injury settlement -- also targeted.

How about the irony that the administration that speaks so well of our 
military has frozen the VA's budget while pouring tens of thousands of 
physically and psychologically injured soldiers into it?  Cutting medical 
benefits?  Making it more expensive (pay reduced by $100 a month for their 
first 12 months of service) to have GI education benefits?  "Support Our 
Troops," anyone?

And if cutting veteran benefits is just a bargaining chip to take away from 
social services elsewhere, as many think, it's a lousy, rotten cynical move, 
playing politics with people who put their lives on the line for their 
friends.

Trust me, *plenty* of us Christians find that bumper sticker-ism abhorrent.
