Once again, I watched TV. I watched the election results last night and I watched the president's press conference this morning. He said that the "thumpin'" that the GOP took wasn't something he expected. He said that he didn't see any reason to believe that it would happen.
Apparently, once again, he apparently was given bad intelligence and optimistically (his word) went ahead with something that was doomed to failure. At least this time it didn't kill anyone. And Rumsfeld's resignation (good riddance!) is not connected to the fact that the nation clearly disapproves of the war. Right. I just hope that all the talk from both sides about partnership rather than partnership amounts to something more than politics as usual.
