I would expect you learned something with regard to how such exchanges might in the future run between you and Nick, and/or that a modification in approach might bear fruit that is more to your taste. (Even if a point remains in contention) I think the obvious theme in what I wrote last night is that as Americans we have much more common ground than we are used to considering. In recent years there have been quite a few personalities publicly expounding a denial of those commonalities, attempting at all cost to focus attention on the differences we have and nothing but the differences. It has become an ingrained habit of thought. Over the last few days I have seen a couple of those polemic personalities behaving in an uncharacteristicly humble manner. I think it is a good sign. I think we are seeing a short walk to the common ground by some of the extremists, a walk to where most of us live. It may be a foolish hope, but for now I will continue to hope. xponent Into My Arms You Sons And Daughters Of Friends Maru rob _______________________________________________ http://www.mccmedia.com/mailman/listinfo/brin-l
