There are a number of 9/11 conspiracy theories, including the "Loose Change" documentary and various links proliferating on the net. I haven't been able to corroborate any of these on snopes.com, or even ascertain if any are hoaxes. I suspect many are disinformation scenarios being spread by extremists on both the left and the right. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070416/ap_on_re_eu/france911 You can do a search on "Detention Camps" and see what comes up.
It would not be the first time an American administration fabricated an incident to start a war. Remember the Maine, the Gulf of Tonkin, etc. Pearl Harbor could have been avoided, but even though we had intel that the Japanese navy was en route, we needed a pretext to enter the war. I don't know if Bush knew about 9/11 himself, but there was plenty of intel before it happened. I would not rule out a conspiracy except for the fact that the neocons were so inept I doubt they could plan and then cover up something that big. You can argue the level of incompetence required by the people in charge to have allowed it to happen. It is entirely possible that 9/11 (despite the incompetence of the hijackers) succeeded because of their incompetence. That still does not explain bldg 7 and a lot of other anomalies. This is not the first time the "Fear of the Other" has been used to divert people from how their freedoms are being abused. An argument can be made that t he cold war was really WWIII and the war on terror is WWIV. Does any of this prove that the elite are raging war on the middle class? By destroying the middle class will they have sown the seeds of their own destruction? If these elitists think that they will inherit the earth, what about all the elites in other countries that think the same, like China? In the final new world order can American hegemony maintain its dominance of world trade through globalization? Our allies will be our adversaries soon enough, but most of all, this planet can not sustain world wide industrialization.
