i am curious to see how far he has to move to the center; i am very suspicious
of bi-partisan politics because compromise can result in policies that are
centrist and not likely to stave off collapse.

we are a capitalist society and the inevitable result of people not 'shopping
'til we drop' is unemployment... as a socialist i have always lived below my
means so losing my job was just a temporary setback.

i still live a minimalist lifestyle and have no debts. i have always shopped
at thrift stores, or blowout and garage sales. my hair is cut by student
interns, etc. my new job is a big reduction in pay and no health benefits, but
as long as i don't get sick, i can manage.

some of the people i worked with have died because they couldn't afford cobra.
we have at least two suicides, that i know about.
