Simon, Sorry but I your compliant doesn't really hold much water. It can never be a good idea to deliberately underseed a team at a tournament. Paddy Murphy played very well at the brit open finishing about reddog, smash & Grab and flyght club. Thus being seeded 13th and above those teams at Tour 3 seems a good decision.
If they were to be underseeded at 17th then it would mostly likely mess up your top16 chances. If you were seeded at 16 you might lose all your top16 games on the Saturday (not unlikely as you must have lost the last two games of Tour 2 to come 16th) Then in the crossover you would meet an underseeded Paddy Murphy, who would most likely knock you out of the top 16 (given their britopen performance), so no top16 games on Sunday of tour 3 nor on Sat of tour4! Is that what you want? Instead by being seeded 13th they can't knock you out of the top16. You will get another chance to win a crossover and to play top16 on the Sunday of tour 3 and then whole of tour 4. The thing that hurts you is that Paddy Murphy are playing at tour 3 not where they are seeded. But, given that they are playing, you should be glad that the DoC has seeded them as accurately as possible, its better for them and better for you. The complaint being that we've been bumped out of the top 16 with the inclusion of Paddy Murphy. We played a hard T2 and were rightly pleased with our top 16 finish and very much looking forward to having a pop at the rest of the top 16 in T3. Now we're back in the 17-2? slot and will basically be having the same tournament as T2. No disrespect to the teams we played but our Saturday pool was comfortably delt with and it was only when we moved up that we started to play teams more on our level, now we have to do all that again - pointless. I don't begrudge Paddy Murphy entering but surely the right and fair thing to do would've been to seed them 17th? That way, if they're good enough (and I'm sure they are), they will have a chance to play the top 16 teams on Sunday and the rest of us get to play the tournament we earnt with our performance at T2. We've been robbed! Expect further complaints... Hence the chaos and restructuring. I particularly apologise to those teams who were mucked about more than others we were working on contingency plans but there got a point where we had to tell people there wasn't any space. To leave it later would have caused even more chaos. Many thanks to Stig for fronting this one whilst I was inundated at work. However here is the situation: Listed below are seedings - please do not feel free to complain, they are now finalised. Also listed below are first games. Because the schedule is now a complete mess people may not wish to turn up for first thing on Saturday. All games are still 1:15 plus 15 min change around/cap. The top eight games are longer as usual. The longest gap between games is 4:30 Play will start on time at 9:15 am Saturday with last game finishing at 7:45 pm Play will start on Sunday at 8:00 am with the final scheduled to finish at 5:00 pm If you do not attend the captains meeting at 8:45 then you will need to make yourself known to the Tournament director before your first game. Whilst we do not anticipate any changes to the schedule these may occur. They will be announced on Britdisc the moment any change occurs (if possible) and the new schedule will be adhered to - if you miss a game because the change has brought your first game forwards then that is your problem. Many thanks for all your patience.
