Diggler, I am not on the UKU board, I was very briefly as student coordinator last year. I have no official capacity either in the UKU or organizing Tour 3.
However Britdisc is a forum for sharing information and debate. Simon posted his complaint to both the DoC and Britdisc and as far as I see it opened the issue for discussion. Everyone is affected by the seeding, Paddy Murphy are a good team, there is every possibility that they might improve on their seeding and get a crossover for 5-12, that affects all top8 teams and obviously all teams now seeded lower than them are affected. It would in fact be to my teams advantage to have them seeded 17, that way we couldn't meet them in the 5-12 crossover but as I stated before I don't believe that is the right thing to do. I know it must be difficult for MMJ to not be playing sat in the top16, having been in similar situations before I know how much it sucks but over Tour3 and Tour 4 I still think it is in MMJ best interests to have Paddy Murphy seeded above them. Sorry for any confusion! Read your email with interest but not sure how this resolves the issue or how it changes the fact that we (MMJ) still feel we have a legitimate complaint. I think it confuses things when every (non affected) team starts putting their two cents in. If you were responding in an official capacity can you please clarify which.
