Especially as the B Tour always gets stuck on the worst pitches as well,
where injuries are more likely/frequent.

(This is not a specific criticism of the excellent organisation of Tour 2,
as they were a victim of circumstances. )

Subject: [BD] Tournament Costs again

BD,

Following on from the discussion that the bidding process and costs
should
be more transparent, why do the A and B tours cost the same to enter?

At Tour 2 each B tour team had 7 or 8, one hour games. The A tour teams
got
6 one hour and forty five minute games. That means that the A tour teams
get
at least 25% more pitch time than the B tour teams. (put another way the
A
tour had 8 pitches for 16 teams and the b tour had only 10 pitches for
26)
Given that pitch hire/marking is the single largest cost (50-75%) of
running
a tournament why isn't this difference in pitch time reflected in the
cost
of playing in the different tours? Why are the smaller, newer B tour
teams
expected to subsidise the larger, more established clubs in the A tour?
