The key is getting them involved at school. This term I have had a number of
girls start coming to practices, so many that we are going to have to start
a separate girls practice at their request. School children will try any
sport at school and at that age are less intimidated.
Recruiting at uni is very important, but we should really be pushing
ultimate into schools. If any of you have seen the quality of the young
people playing at the junior tournaments you will know how exciting the
future of British Ultimate is going to be.
Lets try and get away from recruiting freshers to a quirky new sport and
instead have them searching out that sport that they really enjoyed in their
school PE lessons.
