BD,

Regarding any criticisms to Tour2/BritOpen. Nolan, Mike and co run
this thing like clockwork. 10 years in, they've pretty much got it
nailed down. Quite a bit of the real problems came from having to
apply a UKUA/DoC written schedule to their tried and tested format.

I would hate to see the BritOpen crew put off running an event again
next year because of all this discussion. I think that once again
they did a great job with one exception (which has happened in the
past actually) being the lack of toilets on the first night.

Almost all of the other issues seem linked to a demanding, long and
poorly written in parts, schedule that the TD had to then shoe horn
into a set event format that twice in past years have earned them
Tournament of the Year.

Regarding the doggy doodoo on a pitch...with the average size of a
doggy doo being 10cm across and with 20 pitches at 100m x 37m = 74000
square metres it is conceivable that had the crew charged £300 a team
to fund hiring 30 extra people to walk all 20 pitches from 6am to 8am
each morning, they still might have missed a single piece of poopy.
It is legally up to dog owners (of which I am now one) to pick up
their dog's poopy (Disc bags are great for this by the way). I think
we need to rely on this to a large extent.

Steve
