I'm surprised there hasnt been more debate about this to be honest. I
understand there were serious problems with the venue for tour2 and based on
Hanna's email I dont think anyone would claim that every possible route had not
been tried.
But why the change of venue for this tour? Presumably York was booked for tour
3 so why now the need to change it to Nottingham? And why do we hear this from
Steve G? Steve will undoubtably run a great tourney (as always) but I would
have thought the Mixed Tour co-ordinator or UKUA head Si Hill would have sent
out the email along with an explanation for why.
Someone has already mentioned the fact that this change of decision so late in
the day has ended up costing one team in particular a lot of money in train
fares and that because of this they are now faced with non-returnable tickets
for York and some players who can no longer afford to travel to the tournament
in Nottingham.
Membership to the UKUA must have (at least) doubled in size over the past two
or three years yet we dont seem to be utilising this increase in revenue to
properly organise the flagship events of the season i.e. the tours. As it
stands, we have potentially lost 25% of the mixed season (assuming we can't
find another venue and take the route Chef describes below) and the change of
venue has seriously impacted the costs involved to attend. I appreciate the
time people give up to run this sport in the UK but I dont think even they
would consider this to have been an especially succesful summer so far.

I was under the impression that as MT2 was cancelled, MT3 is now MT2;
MNats is now MT3 and MNats will be run at a later date (yet to be
announced).
I aggree this is frustrating; but as Hannah said she did everything
possible to secure an alternative venue.
