Hey Chris, That's exactly why we've provided a virtual machine disk image this year. [1] It's not in anyone's better interest to debug build failures with such a short timeframe before the deadline. At a glance, you're missing some X11 dev lib(s), but there could easily be other issues as well. The VM disk image will build cleanly and is perfectly suited to making patches and becoming familiarized with the source code. You should just use it for now: [1] https://sourceforge.net/projects/brlcad/files/BRL-CAD%20for%20Virtual%20Machines/ With that image, you could be downloaded, compiled, installed, and making patch edits in just a few minutes. After the submission deadline, we can spend more time debugging specific environments and failures. Cheers!
