Thank you to everyone that has been working on a GSoC application over the past
couple weeks. In total, we received 30 applications of which around half look
to be viable project descriptions. From that pool, we will be selecting a
subset to work with over the summer. Over the next two weeks, our mentors will
be working with you to further review and refine your proposals so that
selections can be made.

If you don't receive any questions or feedback, do not worry! That's not
necessarily a good or bad reflection on your proposal (and more often, it's a
good indication). If you put good effort in and have been talking, keep doing
that.

What can you do in the meantime while waiting for feedback and questions? Work
on patches.

Patches are by far the BEST way to improve your chances as it gives us a sense
for how you communicate while working. Download the sources and compile, if
you have not already. Ask specific questions to help you understand the code
better. Set a specific goal (like any of the items in our TODO file). Be
vocal and work towards it.

Cheers!
Sean
