No worries there. :) There were no technical problems; inability to complete
the reviews was simply a function of time and needing to get a lot of other
things in place for GSoC. If nobody else gets to them before I do, I'll be
certainly reviewing them and will let you know if there are any questions.
Good info though. I'll be testing from a MBP, since that's a core target
platform too (and good to have variety).

Definitely not. We strive for shared code ownership and encourage folks to
make improvements where they see room for improvement, regardless of
development legacy (which we have a LOT of). That's part why you won't find
individual names in source files too.

Librt's history is ... Extensive. :) You shouldn't limit your discussions to
anyone (not that you were suggesting that either). The mentors assigned are
usually very experienced, but they are mostly the ones that will be filling out
your evaluation. We do group mentoring so there can be cross-pollination of
ideas and learning.

I usually suggest first posing open questions to any dev. If you don't get a
response or the answer you need after a few days, reach at more directly (yet
still publicly, we want open discourse) to specific individuals. This holds as
good practice via mail or IRC.

Active discussion, challenging technical considerations, and discourse are
encouraged (even amongst other GSoC students). The meritocracy kicks in if/when
consensus can't be reached. For that, consulting
https://www.openhub.net/p/brlcad/contributors?query=&sort=commits provides a
really rough sorting.

Excellent questions. Anyone else have any? Lots of new folks here and less
than a month to get up to speed.

Cheers!
Sean
