We had a long discussion on IRC where you agreed to write down possible options so we can evaluate and decide a course of action. You said you understood and agreed. You were going to add 5 or more options to the wiki, describing them in ABCDEF terms as discussed earlier. Please let me know if a posting of this information has been overlooked. To be more explicitly clear, we’re waiting on you to write down at least 5 options on a wiki page, ideally the ones we’ve been discussing but you’re welcome to itemize others. For each option, describe them in simple terms so that you answer: A: how source files in repo are handled? B: how content is uploaded to the website? C: how content is presented to a website visitor? D: how a website visitor edits that content? E: how edited content gets staged for review? F: how edited content is reviewed? For EXAMPLE… Option #1: Confluence: A: cron job compiles checkout, stages validated docs for upload syncing B: cron job imports validated docs via RedHat DocBook import for Confluence C: content presented to user via Confluence wiki D: content edited in Confluence as wiki markup E: cron job scans log of wiki edits, exports changed content via Scroll Wiki DocBook Exporter F: cron job stages edits into checkout for review, manually reviewed/committed by dev Describe any other courses of action you think are worth considering. Based on prior discussions, I suspect something like these: Option #2: Mediawiki content plugin … Option #3: Wordpress import/export … Option #4: Mediawiki Special page … Option #5: Custom scripting solution … etc. Cheers! Sean
