The task is not listed simply because it’s hard to craft a project idea that focuses on the coding side of things. It is one of our four top priority strategic areas and part of an identified strategic project (see doc/STRATEGY). Your challenge will be to propose something that doesn’t involve much of any setup and integration as GSoC projects primarily concern themselves with writing code.
