Hi Guys

Thanks for letting me join mailing list.

Please suggest me some work on programming which I could begin right now.

Regarding myself I am a hobby programmer.

This cad development effort is really fascinating as I am Piping Engineer and
day in day out in microstation, Intergraph smartplant 3d and other softwares.

my ultimate dream would be to ready this product comparable to any professional
software.

Thanks once again and pls let me know the path forward as I am very new and
would need guidance to move ahead.

Thanks and best regards

This is the statement I was waiting for ;) Keep asking if you don't

understand something giving me the chance to explain.

Regarding the generic programming: Wikipedia (a good source to get a

first guess) writes: "... generic programming is a style of computer

programming in which algorithms are written in terms of types

to-be-specified-later ..." I.e. you would first write your algorithm

and afterwards specify the mesh structure. Then they write something

about object oriented languages, C++, and templates in the Wikipedia.

However, I'll outline the idea (pseudo)implemented in C to demonstrate

that generic programming is a general programming paradigm - in a

separate mail.

That's right, but the point here is to know how much time you'll need.

I prefer e-mail via this mailing list. I try to be online often in

our IRC channel but cannot promise any "opening hours".

I can understand this but you should try to answer e-mails within a

day nevertheless. Saying "I'll think about it until" of "give me more

details" is enough.

That's why I prefer e-mail: I've meetings, business trips, etc. but

it's pretty likely I can check my e-mail once a day.

Regards,

  Daniel
