Unlike how to pronounce "BRL-CAD" where there is a written [1] expectation, I'm not sure I'd say there's a right or wrong way to pronounce 'mged' because the horse didn't document it. At least, not that I'm aware of -- maybe it is in an old presentation. That said, I've only ever heard of one or two instances where it was pronounced differently than what the CAD team uses, and this would be one of them. :) We've always referred to it as "em ged" (with a hard g as in get). Prior to the addition of the "m", the tool was (and still is) simply referred to by the component letters "gee ee dee". So you might even hear one of us say "em gee ee dee", but it's usually just "em ged". As our "next generation" geometry editor progresses in development (i.e., what we've been calling "Archer"), it will merge with and *become* mged (after a big public review and comment phase). At that point or sometime soon after, we may drop the superfluous 'm' (which stands for "Multi-device") and go back to the original root "gee ee dee" name. Cheers!
