It was possibly reported onto the system command console window (the black
window that gets minimized/ignored). The latest version of archer should
already be capturing the output and properly displaying it in archer's command
output panel.

Yes. :-)
The document intentionally uses a symbol that is easier to read, so there could
be a warning in the document. Conversely, the application could be made to
handle those special unicode characters or the book could use regular hyphens.
One would probably still expect copy-pasting to work, so I'm inclined to forgo
a warning and do something that just works. Thanks for bringing this issue to
attention.
