Since apparently you let it get installed in /usr/local, it'd be in /usr/local/lib > or must i specificily tell qemu to install braille support No, it'll enable brlapi if it detects it. Did you run ldconfig after running make install in brltty? You always need that when installing a library in /usr/local.
