I'm assuming that you mean via Bluetoth since they do work via USB.

As of just a few days ago, they do now work via Bluetooth on Linux. The reason 
it's only on Linux, so far, is because there's a piece of the required support 
- Bluetooth HID - that needs to be platform dependent, and that piece hasn't 
been imlemented yet for Windows and Android.

Yes, that's correct. While support for Windows is possible, and should be added 
soon, there's a permissions issue on Android. Google, at least so far, only 
gives access to a device's HID report descriptor to system apps. Even if they 
decided today to relax this, it'd only eventually show up in Android 12.
