Hi Henk, Dave,

On my Pixel 4a, which also has USB and runs Android 10 there are settings for the USB port. I don't have the device here, but from the top of my head there is a mode setting that let's you switch between host/device mode and some other special modes such as external display and MIDI interface. I guess you will have to change the mode to host before connecting your braille display?

Best,

Bram

Both my phone and the braille display have USB-C connectors, so I thought
that OTG was not needed, but I could be wrong of course.
I'd have made the very same assumption. Maybe there's some new Android setting
to control that. I'm sure that as long as your phone thinks that it's the
device then you won't get that access-granting dialog.

Are you side-loading brltty or getting it from Google Play. If you're
side-loading then we can quickly test a fix for making it stop crashing.
Updating it on Google Play can take a day or two (or sometimes more). :-(
