I've never known it to do that. Maybe something big is wrong. >I can cat /dev/vcsa and see the content of the console, so that at least is >working... If the vcs devices seem to have the correct content then that'd point to something being wrong with the actual check for which mode the screen is in. I'm now wondering if the user-space size of an int differs from what the kernel thinks it is. Does uname -r say that your kernel is 64-bit? Likewise, does the file command, when applied to both the chvt and brltty commands, say that they're 64-bit executables? -- I believe the Bible to be the very Word of God: http://Mielke.cc/bible/ Dave Mielke | 2213 Fox Crescent | WebHome: http://Mielke.cc/ EMail: [email protected] | Ottawa, Ontario | Twitter: @Dave_Mielke Phone: +1 613 726 0014 | Canada K2A 1H7 | http://mielke.cc/xmother.html (Letter from a Feminist ex-Mother) _______________________________________________ This message was sent via the BRLTTY mailing list.
