Just to confirm that this didindeed solve the problem. Many thanks again. A couple of follow-ups:
1. I was observing the same issue on Ubuntu up to 24.04, although I don't run any Ubuntu machines any more, Iso I can't check logs, etc. Is the Ubuntu package still related to the Debian package? 2. I suspect that it is the same issue that is preventing a bluetooth connection on Android, but I am not at all sure where to look for logs, etc. It would be good to have this sorted too, if at all possible. The brltty package I am using was downloaded from the Play Store in the past week. Thanks again to everyone.
