Yes, in effect it is but for a different reason. Google isn't allowing an 
Android app that isn't part of the base system to see a device's HID descriptor 
so we can't implement Bluetooth HID support on Android. I'll have another look 
to see if they've (hopefully) changed this policy.

You need the Android SDK (Software Development Kit) on your host. It provides 
the adb (Android Debug Bridge) command, and log (i.e. adb log) is one of that 
command's subfunctions. Brltty's README.Android describes this.
