thanks for working through the log and confirming all that.
I'm quite sure that it is an EL40C, because the EL40S, as I remember it, has a
two-step bar, proper rocker switches and one row of routing keys. This display
is smaller, and has two momentary push buttons on each side.
From a different source, I've now heard that it is possible to emulate an
EL40S with an EL40C and this may have happened to mine. On Monday, when I have
the key bombination for that, I shall know more.
