I discovered that when I used ddrescue to make the images of my 3 "broken" dvds, I omitted to include a size parameter so I started getting "length-type errors" when I swapped disks (ddrescue would say something like "logfile entry starts after the end of the domain" but I can't remember the exact error).
I think this problem is fixed in ddrescue 1.17. You can find an explanation in this thread[1].
"A CD-R disc written in Track-At-Once mode has two unreadable run-out blocks at the end of the track. Linux seems to shrink the reported length of the track when reading the last sectors of a track fails. If this happens, ddrescue cannot be restarted (it reports that the input file is shorter than the log data)." [1] http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-ddrescue/2012-06/msg00007.html
I feel so deeply indebted to all the people who've contributed to ddrescue: I'm amazed that it's turned 3 illegible disks into a perfect iso file, and I am a very grateful and happy man. Thank you again.
You are welcome. And I am glad that you could recover your photos. :-) Best regards, Antonio. _______________________________________________ Bug-ddrescue mailing list [email protected] https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-ddrescue
