I am running gnu backgammon using the graphical interface that comes with the
download from your site. I am running it on a Windows XP machine.
The bug in my case involves the graphical interface. Several times, the first
time the dice were rolled after I opened the program, the dice were blank. By
this I mean I could see cubes going through the motion of rolling, but the
cubes had no dots on them to indicate the numbers rolled. (I could see what
numbers were rolled by looking at the game record on the right side of the
screen, but the numbers did not show on the dice.)
Until this morning, I could work around the problem by simply starting another
new game without quitting the program. This second time around, the dice would
show up properly.
This morning, however, this workaround has stopped working. I have not changed
any settings in the game, whether they be graphic settings or engine settings.
But the dice are not showing numbers, and will not show numbers even after I
start a new match. Quitting the program and restarting it has not worked.
Logging out and back into my WinXP account has not worked. Resetting my
computer has not worked.
Please tell me what other information you would like in regards to this problem.
And, oh God, please fix it, because you have succeeded in addicting me to this
game.
