Follow-up Comment #4, bug #17717 (project gnustep):
I can't reproduce the Open/Ink problem either. I run linux, latest svn,
recompiled Ink, xlib and no themes/camaelon/etoile stuff. During the test I
had other gnustep apps open like gworkspace too.
I can't reproduce the gworkspace either.
