Follow-up Comment #37, bug #17717 (project gnustep):
With the suspicion that there may be two different issues (one with shared
memory buffer management, one with coordinate mapping), I've tried to solve
some possible problems in the latter by changing the code to determine all
style offsets before they are used and to have the code stick to using those
offsets when told something that appears contradictory by the X system (and
log the discrepency). This involves briefly creating/destroying a series of
test windows the first time a GNUstep application is started up using an X
server which has not already had a GNUstep application running. It's abit
ugly, but I can't think of any way to avoid it.
