Follow-up Comment #4, bug #25534 (project gnustep):
In general, they are starting, at least the menu and the dock icon are
showing upon the local machine.
IIRC that worked here for me, before I switched the local desktop from Linux
to OpenBSD.
maybe it has sth. to do with the first line of the console log:
Xlib: extension "MIT-SHM" missing on display "localhost:11.0".
did not someone else had a problem recently either on the mailing list or
here in another bug, when SHM was not availalble?
