I hadn't planned to--it doesn't seem necessary to achieve the objective
stated in this ticket: fixing the node link topology.

I'm not upset, and in this instance these problems were no barrier to
incorporating the proposed change.  I was recording facts for the
benefit of other developers (and myself once I inevitably forget
things).

Yes, and for better or worse, I have a tendency to ladle my prose

The GNU Emacs manual has long said:

better-organized manuals that you can browse with Info (see Other Help
Commands). This process is not finished, so it is still useful to read
