Follow-up Comment #14, bug #67838 (group groff):

Hi Branden,

thanks for checking with Texinfo folks regarding the availability of 1-ary
@node commands and Cc'ing me on the email thread, quite insightful. Does this
mean you are open to the idea of bumping groff's minimum required version of
texinfo from 5 to 6.7?

1. apologies for using -U0 when producing the patches, at the time I did not
think it would matter, yet I should've known better.

2. The encoding change was unintentional. Unfortunately my NeoVIM seems to
always set the fileencoding to utf-8 regardless of whether the opened file has
a different fileencoding. So my muscle memory makes me type `nvim
$SOME_FILE_IN_GROFF_SOURCE_TREE` instead of `nvim -c 'set fenc=latin1'
$SOME_FILE_IN_GROFF_SOURCE_TREE`. At this point I'm not sure how to resolve
the auto-change fileencoding issue, until I do I kindly ask for your patience
should I forget to set the fileencoding when making changes; just send a quick
comment and I'll happily correct that mistake.

Please find attached an updated patch
(`updated-remove-next-prev-up-from-node.patch`) that removes the prev, next,
and up arguments from the `@node` commands and corrects any warning regarding
inconsistencies in between defined `@menu`s and the document's `@node` tree.

While I consider my English to be quite well, humor and sarcasm are the
hardest to master in a foreign language, so I'm uncertain whether I've truly
understood the joke regarding Texinfo eradicating man pages.
