Hi. I'm having trouble net-booting systems using Grub; the problem
appears to be some sort of problem with the Ethernet drivers, perhaps
a mistake on my part, as Grub never passes the point of probing the
hardware device.

I've tried this now on two separate machines: one with a
RealTek 8029 card and one with a 3c905B-TX. For the RealTek card, I
configured Grub with --enable-nepci; the card was detected, but
Grub printed out that it had a ROM address of "0x" and a hardware
address of "::::". Grub then went into an infinite loop, printing
"[sleep]" over and over.
For the 3c905b, I used --enable-3c90x; Grub found it and printed out
"Found 3Com...ROM address 0x", then "Probing...[3C90X]" and hung.

Is there any hope for this, or should I just break down and stick a
small kernel on each system?

   Thanks,
  Daniel
