Booting with grub 0.5.96 results in no "mem=" in the commandline,
unless I specifically add one to the "kernel" command. It does not
matter whether "--no-mem-option" is used.

Grub 0.5.93.1 adds the correct "mem=" parameter automatically.

Both versions of grub report exactly the same memory map. Here are the
numbers:

Usable Memory: Base 0x00000000 Length 654336 bytes
Reserved: Base 0x0009FC00 Length 1024 bytes
Reserved: Base 0x000F0000 Length 65536 bytes
Usable Memory: Base 0x00100000 Length 133103616 bytes
Reserved: Base 0x07FF0000 Length 32768 bytes
Reserved: Base 0x07FF8000 Length 32768 bytes
Reserved: Base 0xFFFF0000 Length 65536 bytes
