Bug#74618: grub: mem= passing broke recently

Sorry, here are the details:

/proc/cmdline when booting with 0.5.93.1:
mem=131008K  root=/dev/hda1 single

/proc/cmdline when booting with 0.5.96:
root=/dev/hda1 single

If you think that the other contents of the commandline make a
difference, what should I try? All my attempts varying it did change
nothing in the outcome.
