Follow-up Comment #8, bug #27593 (project grub):
GRUB Legacy can load the core.img as a kernel.
Almost the same as you load that GRUB 2 directly.
And then you can use "ls (memdisk)/" or "cat (memdisk)/boot/grub/grub.cfg"
etc. pp.
But you can only access it with the GRUB 2 commands.
