Follow-up Comment #4, bug #41562 (project grub):
I have had the same problem - then i see the path in the grub.cfg.
My first problem was - there are no error message like "no ../default/grub
found" or something.
And the second problem is, why i'm not able to change this Path - for example,
in Debian the default path is /etc/default/grub
