I'd like to propose that this issue be split in order to clarify things.
The current issue should be
"Default staff-affinity for lyrics of UP causes bad output when lyrics are
above a staff"
THe other issue should be
"Lyrics above the first staff in a system are spaced too closely for the
first system"
